Welcome to our 2008 bilingual summer program! This is our 7th year of running this exciting program. Students will have a lot of fun learning Chinese language and culture through youth-attractive activities such as arts and crafts, games, stories, music, drama, dance, and magic shows. In addition, students will be challenged in science, history, reading, writing, and math. Buildings are air conditioned. Hot lunches are provided. Field trip or party every week! Registration is taking place now.

* Please note that the information below is primarily for local students. We also offer special sessions for students from overseas, such as Taiwan or China, but information for those special sessions is not included here. Please call 206-380-1222 for details.

  3. Time and Tuition -

    June 18 to August 29, 2007, Monday through Friday. No school on July 4th.

    You can choose any number of weeks or days to attend. Hot lunch is available. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.

    Weekly tuition:
    Full day (8 am - 6:30 pm): $185
    Morning (8 am - 1 pm): $135
    Afternoon (1 - 6:30 pm): $115
    Pre-registered daily tuition (for students not attending a full week):
    Full day (8 am - 6:30 pm): $45
    Morning (8 am - 1 pm): $35
    Afternoon (1 - 6:30 pm): $30
    Drop-in daily tuition:
    Full day (8 am - 6:30 pm): $55
    Morning (8 am - 1 pm): $40
    Afternoon (1 - 6:30 pm): $35
    SPECIAL DISCOUNTS AND OTHER FEES:

    • 5% discount for additional children from the same family (applied to the lower tuition).
    • $200 discount for non-preschoolers (age 5 and above) if registering for 5 full-days per week for all 10 weeks.
    • $100 discount if non-preschoolers (age 5 and above) if registering for at least 5 half-days per week for all 10 weeks.
    • Tuition is 15% more for children below age 3 or not toilet trained. Or, you can register for our Early Learning Program with a slightly lower tuition rate. Please call 206-380-122 for details.
    • Refund/credit policy: Tuition refund/credit is available if a written notice is received before 5 pm of the last Wednesday before the weekly session starts. If asking for a refund, a refund check will be mailed within 60 days. A $25 processing fee will be charged for each refund. If asking for credit, no processing fee is charged, but the credit has to be used within the 2008 summer program. No refund on left-over credit. No refund/credit if notice is received after 5 pm of the last Wednesday before the session starts.

  4. Program -

    Ages 2.5 to 5:
    Young preschoolers will join our Early Learning Program, which is a year-round program. Students can join only for the summer, or continue after the summer. This program is especially focused on two areas: one is Chinese-English bilingual education; another one is preparing children for kindergarten and for gifted programs. In addition to Chinese language, the program puts strong emphasis on English verbal skills and reading, math, problem-solving, and social skills. Music, arts and crafts, and physical education are also included. Gymnastic lesson every week! Indoor children's gym, toy room, and children's library are available for daily recess between lessons! Field trips to an animal farm, museum, fruit farm, fire station, library, and other fun places! Lessons are taught in a bilingual environment with American instructors for English lessons and Chinese instructors for Chinese lessons. Children love the challenging and fun activities, while parents love watching their kids make unbelievable progress. During the summer, parents will be invited to their children's very own performance and also a magic show!

    Ages 5 to 15:
    Elementary school and middle school students will have a lot of fun learning Chinese culture and language through games, arts and crafts, songs, drama, dance, a magic show, and various other activities. Lessons such as Drawing, Chinese Painting, Science, English Reading and Writing, and Math will be blended into the program. All courses are designed by our highly experienced instructors to be very enjoyable! Every weekly session has a special theme (see below). Our Seattle site is within walking distance of a park and students will have outdoor play time every day. Our Redmond-Bellevue site has an indoor play room and library specially designed for recess between lessons. Field trip, party, or swimming every week! Your children will go to an animal farm, art museum, fruit farm, fire station, library, and other fun places! You will also be invited to your children's performance and a magic show!
    Week 1 (June 23 - 27): Chinese zodiac - Twelve Chinese birth-year animals
    Week 2 (June 30 - July 3): Chinese kids' games
    Week 3 (July 7 - 11): Chinese kids' songs and folk dance
    Week 4 (July 14 - 18): Farm animals
    Week 5 (July 21 - 25): Chinese art and crafts
    Week 6 (July 28 - Aug. 1): Magic show and students' performance
    Week 7 (Aug. 4 - 8): Celebration of 2008 Olympic! - Swimming and more
    Week 8 (Aug. 11 - 15): Taste of China - Food and nutrition
    Week 9 (Aug. 18 - 22): Chinese folktales
    Week 10 (Aug. 25 - 29): Zoo animals
    Age 16 and above:

  5. Daily Schedule -

    Morning:
    8:00 - 9:30 am: Before-school activities
    9:30 - 10:30 am: Lesson time
    10:30 - 11:00 am: Recess
    11:00 - 12:00 noon: Lesson time
    12:00 - 1:00 pm: Lunch

    Afternoon:
    1:00 - 2:30 pm Rest time & fun activities (nap room available)
    2:30 - 3:30 pm: Lesson time
    3:30 - 4:30 pm: Recess and snacks
    4:30 - 5:30 pm: Lesson time
    5:30 - 6:30 pm: After-school activities

  6. Lunch and Snacks -

    • Hot nutritious lunch ordered from nearby Chinese and American restaurants
    • Lunch menu will be posted in school and can be emailed to parents upon request
    • Vegetables or fruits will be served every day
    • Free snacks every afternoon; and also very morning for preschoolers.

    Lunch price:
    Age 5 and under: $12.50 per week (tax included)
    Age 6 and above: $15 per week (tax included)
    Lunch Menu sample:
    Monday: Teriyaki chicken + Vegetable salad + Rice
    Tuesday: Meatball pasta with mushroom sauce + Baby carrots
    Wednesday: Hawaiian pizza and cheese pizza + Watermelon
    Thursday: Pork and cabbage pot stickers + Apple
    Friday: Broccoli beef + Tofu with pork + Rice
    * Or you can bring your own lunch. Refrigerator and microwave are available.
